General description of the collection: The Charles R. Shrader photograph collection includes photos from some of his father's service in the U.S. Air Force in Alaska in 1949 and photos from his own service as a young Transportation Corps officer in the U.S. and Vietnam (1965-1968). His photos taken in Vietnam (1966-1968) are oriented toward the units he served with, namely, 534th Transportation Company, 11th Transportation Battalion and the 48th Transportation Group. The photos include numerous non-descript views of miscellaneous scenes in Saigon and Vietnam in general. There are also several portraits of Lieutenant/Captain Shrader (1965-1968). Good captions are provided throughout.
